About Us

Two entrepreneurs crafting candles
A woman inside a dimly lit perfume store closely examines perfume bottles on display. She is wearing a beige jacket and carrying a black purse. The display showcases various perfume bottles, some with colorful liquids, arranged on a table. Behind her, shelves are stocked with numerous perfume bottles, and a reflective wall shows her reflection.
A woman with short red hair, glasses, and wearing a sleeveless pink floral dress is opening a small black gift box with a white ribbon.

Aeris Candles is Miriam, a budding biologist and NASA research intern, and Naomi, an award-winning artist and creative enthusiast. We keep a small but mighty family support staff to help with pouring, testing, and the occasional candle conundrum.

Together, we believe in excellence through science—where precision, patience, and a dash of obsessive detail yield candles of suspiciously high quality. From an empty glass to the finished product, we handcraft each and every candle in our home in Indiana.

We’ve spent over a decade exploring the art and science of scent—experimenting, refining, and rethinking what a candle should be. Somewhere along the way, we realized we were hopelessly bored with the usual suspects: the recycled blends, the predictable pairings, the candles that all smell vaguely like a spa gift basket. So we set out to create something better.

That curiosity has taken us across Italy, Germany, England, Austria, Belgium, and most recently, Scotland—studying the profiles and philosophies of some of the world’s most renowned scent tastemakers, such as Fueguia 1833 and Isle of Skye Candle Company.

At Aeris, we don’t just match two trendy notes and call it good. Each of our candles is a layered composition: built with intention, designed to unfold over time, and crafted to surprise. The result? Scents that feel quietly luxurious—never loud, never obvious, but impossible to forget.

Using modern aroma theory, large test pools, and a stubborn refusal to cut corners, we craft some of the most nuanced and innovative blends out there. We feel anyone can pour vanilla bean extract into wax and call it a candle. But it takes a bit more nerve—and a lot more nose—to make something like Mandarin, Leather, and Sage or Peony, Limoncello Crème, and Magnolia Flower feel inevitable.

We love the process—the triumphs, the trials, and even the few experiments best left unlit—and we hope our creations bring you just as much joy as they bring us.
